Theatre

The origins of all things powsowdie lie in theatre when, in the summer of 2003, Carol Rochnia and Jack Slater first worked together on a production of Shakespeare's Henry VI, and then on Twelfth Night early the following year

Carol Rochnia is an actor with many years experience, with a number of different theatre groups.  Her abilities cover most areas of theatre but she has been particularly lauded for her comic touch.  More recently, however, her theatrical abilities have been channeled into directing.

Carol is currently concentrating her energies on her music and poetry performances and is resting from the stage, though she remains a devoted fan of theatre.

Jack Slater is a stage actor whose roles have ranged from medieval bad guy to pantomime dame, covering most things in between.  He has also worked in television and taken featured roles in a couple of short films.  Jack Slater is proud to be a member of Equity.

Jack also writes for the stage and has produced a number of small cast, one-act dramas and some full length plays.  His full length pieces tend to be for large casts and are perhaps best suited for community theatre productions.  Details of Jack's plays - which are all available for production - can be obtained from Powsowdie Arts.  Jack is also more than happy to consider play-writing commissions.
