The inaugural Festival of Words was held - under the auspices of the Poetry Fireside Hour - at the Monkey, Thurgoland, on Saturday, 26th June, 2010
Carol Rochnia and Jack Slater were amongst the Monkey Poets who read during the afternoon and Powsowdie [Carol, Jack and Steve Fox] played a well received set
The festival was filmed and photographed [by the inestimable Paul Sykes and Brian Parkhurst, respectively] and will doubtless be appearing on YouTube and Flickr very soon
The afternoon - the first, we hope, of many - was a great success
